Lithuanian Composers’ Union House
The cosy and quiet spaces of the Composers’ House are filled with expressive improvisations by contemporary dance dancers and choreographers Lukas Karvelis and Ieva Navickaitė. The House of Composers has become the first creative meeting point for artists working in different European countries.
Inspired by Finnish regional modernism, the Composers’ House is characterised by a subtle architectural language. In the building, space is created through line, natural surfaces, their textures, and details that have been thought out to the smallest detail – things that may seem invisible.
The Composers’ Union building with its residential block was designed in 1966 by Vytautas Edmundas Čekanauskas and Vytautas Brėdikis.

Palace of the Republic of Lithuania
In the restrained architecture of architects A. V. Nasvyčiai, we will see a contemporary and urban dance composition created by choreographers Airida Gudaitė and Laurynas Žakevičius (LowAir). The restrained architecture becomes the perfect stage to present the duo’s ideas of declared freedom.
The architects’ primary aim in designing the interior of the palace was restraint, not ornate, so there are no ornate chandeliers or gilded details. One of the most impressive modernist interiors is therefore created with more subtle means of expression – changes of space, nuanced colour combinations, surface textures, and the combination of natural and artificial light.
The Palace of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania was designed in 1982 by architects Algimantas and Vytautas Nasvyčiai.

Vilnius | MKIC
Contemporary circus performers Adrian Carlo Bibiano and Džiugas Kunsmanas travel through the merging spaces of the building and explore the visual relationships created by the architects. Their movements echo the slow but never interrupted rhythm of the building’s activity. Day and night, the dancers move, sometimes with great precision – like minds working in a library – and sometimes in seemingly aimless movements that eventually fall into place like a game of tetris.
The openness of Vilnius University’s Science Communication and Information Centre (SCIC) is echoed not only in the library’s philosophy of work, but also in the building’s architecture. It is a building where from every workstation you can see the nearby forest, watch the changing daylight, and feel part of the building as a whole – the floors are connected by an impressive sized hall and staircase, and you can see far away, so that the spaces ripple and open up and become translucent.

ViSAGINAS | MIESTAS MIške
Dancers Miglė Praniauskaitė and Arūnas Mozūraitis travel through the outdoor spaces of Visaginas, seeking a relationship with the unusual forms and surfaces of the city, which create the character of Visaginas – red bricks and concrete, elaborate window and staircase details, arches and columns, diamonds and circles. Some details are updated and highlighted, others are old and restrained, giving the impression that time is melting away in this city. The clip also shows another, perhaps the most important, feature of Visaginas – it is a city where the forest is always close by, it surrounds the buildings, it intervenes between them and is always visible – in the courtyards, in the passageways, in the perspectives of the eye.

Nida | Prieplauka
After the storms of life – between safe walls, out of the rocking waters – to the hard shore. Experience and marks of loss in the movements, sometimes fatigue and at the same time lightness. From a high tower, he looks out over the distant lagoon with longing, and at himself with gentle irony. Sometimes he feels alone on this shore. A man who can see far and wide, but who will never go to those distances again.
Nida Pier is a late modernist building, one of the most expressive in Nida. It is designed for the sea, rich in form, restrained in materials and colours. The shapes rise upwards, the materials reflect the character of the harbour, the colours are calm. The shop windows and terraces frame the views of the sea and sky, making the building disappear and paying homage to the environment.
Architect – Alfredas Paulauskas, 1976.Architects of the reconstruction – “LG projektai” (G.Vieversys) and “GAL architektai” (A.Šablevičius, E.Buikaitė), 2019.

SEA FRAGMENT / SEAWATER SWIMMING POOL (Saint-Quay-Portrieux, France) (3’33, FR, 2024)
The choice of this site was guided more by its location and function than by the architecture of the pool and its surroundings. The building is designed to be naturally and regularly flooded by the Atlantic Ocean tides. The film incorporates natural elements like tides, wind, rain, and light. I aim to depict a harmony between the body, the site’s architecture, and the powerful nature of the location. The goal is to reveal a fragile balance between humans and nature on this ever-changing coastline. The creative process was intuitive and improvised, influenced by the moment and contributions from the dancer, director, tides, and weather.
